Skilled Nursing

With licensed staff on duty 24 hours a day, skilled nursing includes meals, social services, personal support, hygiene, medication delivery, activities, and a collaborative health plan to help residents meet their health goals.

Solheim accepts Medicare, private insurance, private payments, and Medi-Cal based on a space available basis. As a preferred provider for Glendale Adventist Hospital and a regular support to other local hospitals, Solheim’s years of experience is important when making a choice for short term services or long term needs.

Residents under a Life Plan agreement receive priority admission to skilled nursing at Solheim, and residents under Monthly Agreements for any level of care are also provided priority access. Many residents come to skilled nursing from local health care organizations and then decide to stay with a move to residential, assisted living, or memory care.

How does Solheim define skilled nursing care?

This is the highest level of care at Solheim.  We provide rehabilitative care, short-term care, and long term custodial care, which includes medication management, help with getting in and out of bed, and assistance with feeding, bathing, and dressing.  Meals are opportunity for conversation and camaraderie and are offered in the dining room three times daily.  In-room dining is also available.  Staff provides personal help so that residents are up and dressed, receiving medications and nursing attention at the right times.  We work hard to make sure our residents are engaged in life, offering choices for daily activity.  Residents enjoy the outdoors, sunlight, and pet companionshi
